After the gas passes through the inner core, it will undergo secondary expansion to increase the gas speed, and then reach the working face through the end hole. The advantage of this is to reduce shock generation and increase gas speed, thus improving the efficiency of gas participating in cutting, taking away slag, and heat. By using the inner core this way can reduce the difficulty of processing, but another side effect is that the effect is not as good as the real supersonic nozzle! And the assembly requirements of the inner core are very high, many nozzle processing plants in the double-layer nozzle, often occur the inner core off, the inner core crooked, concentricity exceeded and other serious bad!
Double-layer nozzle is generally used for high-speed cutting because of its high gas flow rate. Cutting carbon steel with oxygen is generally a double-layer nozzle, which is fast, but the slit is wide, and the cutting surface will be black (oxidized).
