Material type of plasma cutting
Any conductive metal, including stainless steel and aluminum
Ability to handle rusted, painted and mesh metal workpieces
Ideal thickness
Mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium from 26 GA to 50 mm
Capable of cutting stainless steel and aluminium up to 182 mm thick; some secondary machining will be required
Cutting quality
1.Tolerances in the range of +/- 0.38 mm to 0.5 mm, with an average edge angle of 2° to 3° for steels less than 10 mm thick; 1° for steels 12 mm to 38 mm; less than 1° for steels 50 mm 2.Heat affected zone is narrow, generally less than 0.25 mm
3.Proper selection of cutting process and gas will greatly reduce edge hardening for excellent weld performance
4.Relatively smooth edges with smooth torch motion
5.Dramatically reduce slag (resolidified metal) on steel while reaching rated capacity
*Tolerances will vary depending on material type and thickness, part geometry, and the overall design and quality of the cutting system. The tolerances listed here are generally accepted assuming a good quality cutting table with good motion control. Different cutting tables will have different cutting performance even if they are equipped with the exact same cutting components.
